Boxing Coach
United Boxing Club is a community built around boxing, fitness, and personal growth. We’re looking for Boxing Coaches who have prior experience in the sport and can connect with people in a welcoming and professional manner to help our members build real skills as well as contributing to the community.
This is a hands-on coaching role for someone who loves boxing, enjoys teaching all levels (from beginners to competitors), and feels at home in a busy, community-driven gym. You’ll start by mostly leading private 1-1 and semi private sessions followed by group classes and help deliver programs that make United feel like The Home of Champions in Toronto.
Compensation includes an hourly coaching rate with opportunities to grow through private training, programs, and long-term roles within the club.
Overview
❋ Community
You’ll build relationships on and off the floor, support members in setting goals, and contribute to boxing programs, events, and, for experienced coaches, the development of our amateur/competitive team.
❋ Coaching
You’ll teach both fitness-based and technical boxing sessions—group classes, private training, and small groups—helping members improve conditioning, skill, confidence, and ring IQ in a safe, structured environment.
Coach private and semi-private sessions, tailoring training plans to each client’s goals (fitness, fundamentals, or competition prep).
Teach group boxing classes (fitness & technical) with clear instruction, strong energy, and focus on safety and form.
Support club programs such as intro courses, 6-week challenges, and fight camp, including tracking progress and keeping members accountable.
(For experienced coaches) Help build and support an amateur / competitive team, including cornering, fight prep, and event nights where applicable.
Key Responsibilities
2–5+ years boxing experience (amateur or professional) with real ring or coaching experience; active competitors are a plus.
Strong communication skills—you can break down complex technique into simple, clear cues.
Values safety, humility, and long-term development over ego or quick results.
Comfortable in admin & tech: using our booking app, tracking sessions, and communicating with members via email/text.
Bonus: Boxing coaching certification, PT certification, or experience in strength & conditioning.
Ideal Candidate
Coach in a busy, well-established boxing club in Toronto with strong community and reputation.
Opportunities to grow into lead coach, program lead, or competition team coach roles over time.
A culture built on honour, courage, consistency, and genuine respect for the sport and its people.
Creative & Impactful Role: You get to blend events, people, systems, and storytelling to grow something meaningful.
Perks:
Full gym & class access
Staff training sessions
Discounted merch, coffee, and gear
Involvement in fight nights, galas, launches, and community events
